This week the Media Book Club brings you Scoop-Wallah: Life on a Dehli Daily, the story of a year in the life of British Journalist, Justine Hardy. A chance conversation with her greengrocer about the portrayal of India in the media inspired Hardy to move to Delhi to write on the English language paper, The Indian Express. In light of the effect of the current downturn and the decline in print on British journalism, Hardy makes the point that India is actually enjoying a bit of a news “boom”. This book screams of the author’s affection for Delhi and it’s people and provides a colourful insight into life as a journalist in India.
